Your Big day is fast approaching, infact you’ve got just a couple of weeks-perhaps days before you say I do infront the minister and the congregation. Preparations are in top gear, the venue fits exactly what you had in mind, the décor sample pictures looks fabulous, the meals of course-you have been assured of finger-licking meals for you esteemed guest some of whom you havn’t seen since you graduated from secondary school-infact everyone is on the same page preparation-wise…wait a minute, whats going to happen to those fantastic memories after the light goes dim

The Wedding Videographer

When it comes to choosing a wedding videographer many couples put it off until the last minute. This not only results in choosing poorly because you seem to be running fast out of time but also in a finished look that may not satisfy you.

A great wedding videographer does more than just sick out the camcorder in your face and hit the record button, wedding videography is more than a craft, its an art and great wedding videographers poses the skill and vision to turn your most cherish moments in to a timeless love story you’ll love to watch and share. These would require some form of pre-production meetings.

Video cost money, what you see on Tv cost way more than you ever anticipated, I don’t intend to be the sound of gloom and doom here, however the most pricey dosen’t necessarily translate to the best film, but if you are dealing with a professional wedding videographer expect to spend as from N70,000($500) for a single camera shoot and editing with film on an authored DvD way upto N1,500,000($10,000)

Must Do when choosing a wedding Videographer

1. Always meet with the videographer first as they will be a massive part of the day.You want someone who is easy to get along with and passionate about their job, even if they will be a fly on the wall that day.

2. Choose a company that can give you the style you want, speak with the videographer who will be filming your wedding, tell him/her your ideas and visions. Can they give you a storytelling concept or do they offer just the usaual documentary style, what about a concept with a staged piece or perhaps a music video style

3. See their reel: request a copy of their wedding demo, see if you can make an emotional connection with it else hit the road. But really watch their films to be sure you know atleast what you expect. Check out the audio quality too.

4. How long will it take to them to deliver the edited piece in your hands? Wedding videos on the average takes about 200hrs from when the videographer puts on the editing cap. A videographer promising to give you the edited piece in less than a week especially when it involve two or more hd camcorders is warning you to expect the worst while hoping for something close to the best.
